SERVICE PLANS

The purpose for service plans is to minimize the costs of wasted water and other issues that arise from timer scheduling, plant growth, leaks, broken heads and overspray into unwanted areas. The hammock the kids bought dad for Father’s Day is great for relaxing but it blocks coverage to the Blue Atlas Cedar you planted on Mother’s Day. The placement of that new basketball hoop blocks a sprinkler head. You moved your trash can storage area or put in a shed that is now on top of a sprinkler(s). These are just some more things that need to be addressed from time to time on your property. Regular maintenance of your sprinkler system can fix an issue before it becomes a major cost.

Over watering, leaks and overspray from sprinkler heads have the obvious cost of wasted water. Other costs could include lawn restoration from fungus or soil erosion, plant replacement (over watering can kill), mold or mildew and stain removal from unwanted overspray, and water damage to wooden structures (decks, sheds).

Under watering has a cost as well. It can be caused by more than just the lack of timer adjustments. Common issues are sprinkler heads that have stopped rotating, plant growth blocking the spray or the placement of lawn ornaments, pool/patio furniture, basketball nets, etc. also affecting coverage. Unfortunately, we typically find out there is a problem when something has already died. Lawn restoration or plant replacement can be quite costly.

Growth of landscaping is often a huge problem, causing flooding problems as well as blocking down spray to other landscaping. Blocking spray patterns is a major cause of uneven growth in plants and annuals. Perennials are not up yet in spring and annuals are not yet planted. Worst case scenario, the blockages can kill plants because of too much water and/or not enough water.

Water conservation is also a huge priority for American Lawn Irrigation. Wasted water costs you money that you don’t need to spend, plus it can lead to water shortages in the years to come. Seasonal adjustment of your timer is just one more reason it is a great idea to have us out to check on your yard periodically. Normal weather changes need to be followed up by changes to your timer program. Whenever we are on site, we adjust the timer to satisfy the current conditions. The more frequently we come, the more effective the timer adjustments are.

The service plans we offer give you the opportunity to have a trained professional look for potential problems before they become bigger and more costly issues. Please understand that all plans include adequate time for full check-ups and minor upkeep, and or adjustments. Extra labor and parts are not included, due to the fact that no one can foresee just what any given property could need year to year. We do however, know exactly how much time it takes to walk your property and check all heads and adjustments, as well as looking for leaks, plant growth, etc.
