Why We Charge What We Charge

This article is here to explain the costs involved in providing professional service to your home or business. Our office staff is already working for you before you even call our office to make your service request. We have already spent many hours just making sure that there are enough time slots on our schedule to accommodate our customers. This obviously becomes more challenging as we grow each year, but you’ll notice that our list of dates available in each town grows each year also. Once you do call in your service request, our office staff then books your appointment and reserves your space on our future schedule. The day before your appointment, someone from our office contacts you to remind you that we’ll be coming and between what hours. The office staff also prints out a route sheet for the technician who will be servicing your system and organizes it as best as possible based on the time slot requested by you. Finally, the technician shows up at your property in a professional vehicle equipped with tools, parts, and most importantly knowledge and experience. If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll start to notice the same technicians appearing at your door time and time again. Most of our service technicians have been with us for between four and nine years.

Our 2008 service prices are listed on this page. The service fee of $40.00 helps to cover all of the above-mentioned costs as well as fuel, insurance, and drive time to your residence. Implementing this service call fee allows us to remove our half hour minimum charge that was used in previous years. Now, if you only need us for fifteen minutes, fifteen minutes is all you have to pay for. This will come in handy for those quick mid-season stops when your lawn guy cuts off a head or you have one new bush that requires a head adjustment.

Lastly, some of you know that we occasionally send out a helper with our technicians. We send the helper when we feel that a technician has a schedule that truly warrants it. The good news is that you’ll often save money in this instance because we charge a lower hourly rate for the helper and two men can get the job done in less time. Do the math, 1 tech. for 1 hour= $60.00 or 1 tech. plus a helper for a half hour (1 total labor hour)= $48.00 in labor charges.

Remember, our schedule fills fast, call early to book your appointment. Our customers who do call early don’t mind waiting a week or so from April 1st for their start-ups, but the ones who call Memorial Day Weekend get quite frustrated when they find out we can’t come the next day. Make it a point to not be that late customer this spring.
